‘I was excluded because I had no child’ — Mo Bimpe recounts painful fertility journey

Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has opened up about being deliberately excluded from social gatherings involving children during the period she was trying to conceive.

The actress shared the experience in an Instagram post after attending the first birthday celebration of Iyabo Ojo’s grandson, Rakeem, revealing that the occasion brought back memories of one of the most difficult seasons of her life.

According to Bimpe, there was a time when she stopped receiving invitations to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays and other celebrations involving kids.

She said she later discovered that some acquaintances had intentionally left her out because she did not have a child at the time.

Bimpe said the exclusion was deeply painful, especially because she loved children and wanted to celebrate with friends and people she cared about.

She explained that the struggle to conceive was already emotionally difficult due to the waiting, questions, hurtful comments and silent prayers, adding that being excluded by people close to her made the experience even harder.

The actress urged people to show compassion to women experiencing fertility challenges, stressing that being without a child does not make anyone less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion or celebration.

“Please don’t make it harder by excluding people. A woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration. Invite her. Love her. Celebrate with her. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind their smile,” she wrote.

Bimpe, who is now a mother of triplets, said she decided to share her experience to encourage other women currently trying to conceive.

Reflecting on her own journey, she urged women not to lose hope, noting that her circumstances eventually changed unexpectedly.

“And to every TTC woman reading this today, I want you to know that your story is not over. There was a time I had no child. Today, I am a mother of triplets. The same God who remembered me has not forgotten you.

“I know the waiting can feel long. I know there are days when your faith feels tired. I know there are moments when it seems like everyone else is moving forward. But please don’t give up. Hold on. Keep believing. Keep hoping. Your testimony is not impossible.

“If there is one thing my life has taught me, it is that God can change a story faster than anyone expects. What feels delayed is not denied. And when your time comes, it will be beautiful,” she added.
